Do It Yourself Estate Planning...Are You Really Covered?

I just came across a great article that I want to share with you all. The article breaks down the reasons why it pays to work with an Estate Planning Attorney rather than work with a Do-It Yourself process.

We have all seen an influx of online legal document generating sites and legal document assistance offices over the past few years. They offer you a low priced will or trust and then ask you provide pertinent information that they use to fill in empty blanks of a template. After the blanks are filled, they email you the document to print on your own. There are a few services who will send you a copy printed on high quality paper for an additional $59.95,

While it seems like a good idea initally, it will likely leave you with a set of documents that won't work for you the way you want them to. Even worse, it will leave your family the exhausting, expensive and emotional job of tying up your estate properly after you pass.

Here it the article by Julie Garber from The Balance. It is worth the read and the consideration.

If you have used a document service, give me a call to set up a review of your plan. I would be happy to take a look and make sure your plan works the way you want it to. If you don't have a plan and have been considering a document generating site, give me the opportunity to meet with you and see how I can help you protect your family and legacy. I offer free no pressure consultations.
